Gong Xi Fa Cai

This year's Chinese New Year comes just at the end of January and seems to be quite a rush for some. Yet all Chinese are happy to usher in the Year of the Dog (in the Chinese zodiac).

The festive mood is in the air as Chinatown is decked in the auspicious red and the streets thronged with families busy with shopping for goodies that are usually available during this celebratory period.

The Chinese New Year is one celebrated with many new wishes for the year ahead. The common wishes for the new year are for good health and wealth, and not forgetting happiness and prosperity.

Happy Chinese New Year!
