My colleagues were commenting how Valentine's is becoming ever so commercialised. They know how hard it is to book a place for dinner and how much money they are going to blow by celebrating the event but it's almost like a peer pressure that cannot be ignored. If you walk the streets, restaurants have amazingly long queues and there are people selling flowers everywhere.
It's indeed hard to brush it aside but some couples have already made an agreement to celebrate it in their own style. Some would forgo the flowers which can easily be sold 3 times their cost during this period and some would settle for dinner at home or even some less crowded eating place. Yet there are still many who fall trap to the event.
As a married colleague said,"Valentine's is just another day". Whatever the case, have a Happy Valentine's Day! (See also St Valentine's Day)
