Healthy Mind

As part of the National Healthy Lifestyle Campaign 2007 encourages Singaporeans to nurture and look after their mental health. The theme for this year's campaign is 'Healthy Mind, Happy Life'.

The campaign focuses on promoting mental wellbeing and also seeks to help Singaporeans appreciate that having mental well-being helps them realise their own abilities, cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively and contribute to their own community.

Your state of mind is shaped by the way you think. This in turn affects your responses to situations that you face in your life. Mental well-being is a state of positive mental health in which one:

* realises his or her own abilities,
* copes with the normal stresses of life
* works productively and fruitfully and
* makes positive contribution to his or her community

With mental well-being, one can have the capacity to enjoy life to the fullest and deal with the normal stresses and challenges of life constructively.
