It is just magical to see a childhood story being made into a movie.
I had watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory recently and it is a tale of how a boy named Charlie had won a Golden Ticket that entitled him a tour of the eccentric Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. It is a heart-warming tale where the spoilt brats are punished and importance of family emphasised. Seeing it being animated and made into a movie is simply amazing!
During my earlier days, the stories that brought imagination into our childhood lives were from books by authors like Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton. From a serious point of view, the fairy tales, of course, don't make much practical sense. Yet it is the precisely the fictitious nature of such stories that brings the readers to a fantasy place and open their eyes to a world of possibilities.
As we age into adults, we read more factual stuff like financial reports, medical journals and what-nots, and begin to lose the child-like wonder in our souls. Everything in life must be substantiated by cold hard evidence. In some ways, our creativity gets dulled and we lose that little element of playfulness.
Let us not discount what fiction can offer us and be daring enough to indulge in a fantasy world every once in a while.
