My friends have urged me to write something inspirational and motivational. So here I am giving my two pence worth of advice. My friends worry about getting disheartened with life, so I shall offer these two lines of wisdom:
If at first you don't succeed, you are about average.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
In fact it is not only my friends that seek inspiration and motivation in life. Look at how big the industry and market has grown for motivational speakers like Anthony Robbins. Parents do not even think twice when sending their children to motivational workshops that easily fetch thousands of dollars.
A local TV show "Get Real" investigated the effectiveness of such seminars and workshops and it was revealed that the dose of motivation only lasts for months, following that you would need to get another dose. However, believers of its prowess argue that it is better to be motivated at least once in your life than never before. It ultimately lies on the individual to determine whether such services are worth the hard-earned money. However, do not worry my friends, at least this piece of motivation I give for free.
Life is full of ups and downs, and everyone experience moments of despair and disappointment at some point in life. It is such moments when the right words at the right time can help pick you up to carry on. Maybe our world is indeed one plagued with much despair and disappointments. That is why motivational speakers are needed to feed the hungry world impoverished of inspirations.
