Singapore Idol 3

I really don't wish to comment on the recent third season of Singapore Idol when Sezairi Sezali was announced the winner last night over the number 2 contender, Sylvia Ratonel. There are already a lot of comments floating around cyberspace and some being very controversial and borderline of being racist and/or sexist, as the 2 previous season winners were Hady Mirza (2007) and Taufik Batisah (2005) respectively; with Sezairi crowned, that will make it the third Malay male idol.

However, as I have already blogged about the Singapore Idol when it was first conceived in Singapore, I guess it would only be appropriate that I made at least a mention. (See also: Inaugural Idol, Singapore Talents)

So here's my 2 cents worth: To be honest, I've only watched highlights here and there of this show unlike previous seasons, so I can't really comment. Perhaps the novelty of the competition has worn off after 3 seasons. If there were a next season, I wonder how many people would continue to watch and support?
