It is indeed a painful moment for Mr Brown, also known as Mr Lee Kin Mun, when one of his articles in his usual Todaycolumn on Friday was shot down by Ministry for Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA). (See the article here.)
He had written a satirical article entitled "S'poreans are fed, up with progress!" that talked about rising costs in Singapore and suggested in a comical manner that these costs were probably due to not well managed progress.
Apparently that had touched on a raw nerve of the MICA and he was immediately labelled harshly as a "partisan player of politics". Soon after, his regular column was also suspended.
While the article is borderline on being controversial, there certainly wasn't any tact involved when he was put down so unfeelingly. Just as the feedback offered no solutions, the reply held a very defensive stance and a strong accusation that would turn off the public. In fact, many people have come to Mr Brown's defence. (one such example, here.)
We should all learn to respond more positively to feedback and recognise the importance of it in every process.
