Winter in Singapore

The weather outside is indeed frightful. It's been raining so much over the past days that it really feels like winter in the usually sunny Singapore. In fact the air has been quite cool recently that some of my colleagues have come down with the chills. There is consistent sniffing of noses in the office especially when the weather is cold.

Seeing the hazy skies and dreary scene of buildings set in a curtain of rain in the morning, makes you dream of staying and snuggling a little longer in bed and then waking to nice steamy hot chocolate with your hands wrapped cosily round the mug. Yes, tis the season to be jolly as the days line up for Christmas and the festive period.

My family and I decided to soak in the atmosphere by taking a trip downtown. By now, the brightly decorated streets are already packed with busy shoppers and retailers eager to show their wares. The mood is simply infectious but it would be back to boring work tomorrow and the business of waking up early even if it is a rainy morning.

Not to dampen the spirit, so before I end this entry, let me tell you a corny joke that I heard from a performer dressed as an M&M chocolate:

Knock! Knock! Who's there?
Mary.
Mary who?
Merry (Mary) Christmas!
