Someday we'll know

Sometimes when we reach a rough spot in life, when unexpected things happen and you are left wondering, "Is this really happening to me?". It is almost like we are plunged into a surreal world that we thought only happens to other people and not you at this moment in time, but there you are smacked into the cold hard wall of reality. (See Boulevard of Broken Dreams)

It is a time of uncertainty and confusion and sometimes we really wished there were some way to predict how things would turn out and which path to take. Yet the only thing that is certain is that life is uncertain and it is this random nature of life that makes it all interesting. However curiousity will sometimes get the better of you and you wonder what the future holds.

Perhaps the New Radicals are right to say:

Someday we’ll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we’ll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we’ll know
Why I wasn’t meant for you
Does anybody know the way to Atlantis
Or what the wind says when she cries
I’m speeding by the place where I met you
For the 97th time tonight

Perhaps it is not for us to know right now and all will be revealed at a later date. As Greek philosopher Epictetus puts it, "There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will."

That is one of my all time favourite songs. I don't see it referenced often though. The band broke up pretty soon after that single was released.

Sorry the comment's a little digression from the point of your blog. But I had to throw my two cents in - if only for the sake of the song. *grin*

Hahahaha.... Ooops!

I feel privileged to have been an inspiration for a post of yours. =)

The line about the only certain thing is that life is uncertain holds true: I've had that line recited back to me a million times in the last few months. Sometimes though, you can't help but wish you could hang onto something more certain than that truth. *rueful smile*

Oh well..
