A friend who had read my blog on Inspirations and Motivations was inspired to be a motivational speaker. He confessed to me that he thought it to be "easy money" and even urged me to jump straight into the bandwagon. He said that we could jointly write and publish books to tell people things they already knew.
He suggested several ideas that could sell. One idea was to introduce some thinking model that encourages creativity like Edward De Bono. Another idea is to teach people to manage their money better like Robert Kiyosaki in Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Basically he claims we should repackage something common sense.
But if it was all common sense why are people still buying it? Then I remember someone once told me that common sense is not so common after all. So what is common sense then? Albert Einstein claims that common sense is nothing but the prejudices we've acquired by age 16.
My friend went on further to say that what really sells is to ask people to believe in themselves that they are special. The concept he explained was simple, just tell everyone they have talents and they need to just reach out to their dreams and fulfill them. That sounds almost like Adam King from the Guinness commercial: Believe. Someone will do it. Why not be you?
For now I guess I will just dish out free motivations and inspirations. How about this one for starters:
Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
