Type type type

Work has been hectic in the past months and I wonder about recent comments made by Singapore Finance Minister, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, about Singaporeans to strive for excellence instead of just being competent. See: http://sg.yfittopostblog.com/2010/10/28/singaporeans-should-strive-for-excellence-tharman/

Perhaps it could be that Singaporeans are too stressed up at work and too busy meeting endless deadlines, and that it drains them so much that they compromise the quality of their output. Many Singaporeans face immense pressure at work as many companies try to stretch individuals in the name of productivity. Workers in Singapore look like hurried ants scurrying around and this could also be the reason why creativity is somewhat stifled in the nation.

Below is a little piece of creativity performed by Viennese Percussionist Martin Breinschmid with his version of the "Typewriter" Live at the BASF concert hall Ludwigshafen, Germany 2008, Strauß Festival Orchestra Vienna.

Maybe corporations should rethink about how they operate and focus on excellence and creativity, instead of just plain productivity.
