Just for amusement, a follow up from Everyone needs a seat:
Mass Rapid Chess Game
Have you seen the chess game
That goes on every day?
Not the old men down by the void deck
But every day on the train.
The pace is much faster
but the moves pretty much the same.
The chess pieces are the passengers
who hop onto the train.
Each round of moves is determined
by the opening of the doors.
And the confines of the train
is none other than the chessboard.
Pieces that get "eaten"
will have to exit the train.
To keep the interest going,
New pieces will be introduced into the game.
There did you see it?
The Bishop made his move,
sliding about diagonally
taking the seat of one who's been "eaten"!
That was a beautiful "castling" move!
Now the Rook has moved from near the door
to near the seats of the throne.
Soon we'll get to see a checkmate.
Didn't see that coming...
The Knight has made his move.
Out from nowhere, he has shifted
In an L-shaped manner between pieces.
The pawns are a patient bunch
Slowly but steadily moving forward.
Finally, one has made it to the other side.
All hail the new queen!
Isn't it fun to watch
the chess game on the train?
Wonder what moves will be made
the next time the doors open.
